Pain Threshold

I went for my regular facial last night. I used to be able to endure the pain of squeezing. In fact, I never felt there are pain. But lately I realise my threshold for pain reduced. It seems the older I am, the less resistant I am to pain. Or is it my skin getting thinner?

Time may be short but the love is deep

This morning something happened to me unexpectedly. I got into office and was reading through my list of shipments and staring at the monitor. I was planning to ask my partner something and I called out his name “Edwin Edwin…”

My partner turn around and look at me “Huh? Who you calling?You’re working in new company liao no more Edwin.”

Find it quite hilarious when told my ex-colleagues. I thought I had 1 month break away from work and would get over the breakup My ex-colleagues comment is “Sometimes the time may be short but the love is deep.”

So true.

Started my new job – I love Cityhall!

I am back working at Cityhall again with my new job which I started first day today:) I took a month break from work and have not worn my heels for a while. Thank goodness my happy feet got back in the mode without much pain.

Today is a beautiful day. The weather is very kind and forgiving today. My office is on the highest floor. I should be able to get a good view of F1 this year. The company gave me an Iphone4 which I need to figure out how to play with it besides using it for work Colleagues are nice so far. It always is on the first day. Hah.

Anyway, I love being back at Cityhall! Familiar shops, familiar lift, familiar eating haunts, convenient location, people watching and I can grab my $2 sandwich again!!

How all these is nice nice nice!

Long awaited US!

I have been longing to set foot in USA as I have never been there before. I am having a month long break in between my old and new job, so I grab this great opportunity to visit the states. I am certainly looking forward!! Everyone is raving about the fabulous outlet shopping. It’ll be so irresistable. I’ll have to exercise some self control then. Hee…

苦口良药

Past few days I have fallen sick. This always happens whenever I am going for a trip. I noticed it has become a routine. Hah!

So my mum has plucked some wild plants from the Msian kampong and brewed it for me to drink. It is super 超级大苦茶！！I have never ever tasted anything that bitter before even after mum has put in tonnes of brown sugar. The taste is still bitter until I feel like vomiting.

But it is suppose to clear toxic from our body. So I just drink it, anything to get well.

Retro Shades

Few weeks ago, I suddenly saw this pair of sunglass which I’ve never seen before lying around at home. I asked around and realise that its my mum’s. She has kept this pair of sunglass for almost 30 years I guess and never really see daylight as far as I can remember. So retro!! I immediately claim it to be mine!

Bird Flower 鸟花

I was visiting my relatives in Msia the other day and saw this really interesting and pretty plant. I was very fascinated by the flowers. I had to go really close to see it for myself to make sure my eyes are not playing tricks on me

Don’t they look like little birds perched on the plant? Hee…

I don’t know the name of the plant, but I call them Bird Flower!

All bad news on Friday ><

It seems everything could go wrong went wrong today.

There’s a myth in office that problem will usually happen on Friday :~

We often try to ignore this myth, especially when I’m still quite a newbie (I passed my 1 year anniversay).

But today this myth hit us big time. 1 hr into work, saw an email regarding our shipment. WE ARE SO DEAD. My partner starting writing swear words on his notepad and munching food incessantly. This has to be escalated to our legal dept where they will send us super long lawyer talk which we wont know what they talking abt. And we really don’t have excess manpower to handle. Sigh…

That is my partner’s shipment. I have my own fair share of problems. Buyer undercutting us on price and figuring out if we have a case to bring them to legal. I practically stare at my screen blankly not knowing what I should do for several minutes. Many things to do, but dunno which to start first.

Then there is the huge earthquake in Japan There’re several TV in my office playing CNBC news throughout the day. We saw the news on TV and got a big shock. The tsunami is massive and destructive. I hope my Japanese friends are all alright.

And then my friend had to cancel our outing plans this weekend. So disappointing…

No more bad news please.

Big Fat Angpao for 开工大吉！！

I got a really shocking and pleasant surprise just now!!

Usually during every chinese new year, I would bring mandarin oranges to office on the 1st day of work to wish my more senior colleagues new year and good luck. I did the same thing as usual today and my colleague gave me an angpao.

Just now I came home and I open to take a look at it. I got a shocking big surprise when I saw the number of zeros!!! I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me!! I’ve never received such a big angpao before!! Woot!!!!!! And so impactful because it is just in a 1 piece note! WOW!!

I text my colleague and asked if he give the angpao wrongly… he said we worked very hard and we deserve it.

I am indeed very touched that my efforts have not went unnoticed
